Management Plans for Parks and
Nature Preserves

Condor Environmental Planning specializes in developing land management plans ensuring protection of biological resources, sensitive species, cultural resources, scenic and open space resources, while providing for wildfire planning and appropriate public access use and recreation. Integrated resource management plans entail detailed scientific field surveys to gather botanical, wildlife, fire history, trail use information, etc. With the use and development of GIS technology, Condor Environmental Planning enhances the planning and decision making process.

Interpretive Signs

Interpretive signs such as this one are meant to educate the public about the cultural and ecological history of a place.

Condor Environmental Planning creates interpretive signs for natural areas using our understanding of ecosystem dynamics, environmental education principles. Our goals are to help the visitor or trail user generate a sense of place, understanding, appreciation, and connectedness. We have created interpretive signs that focus on rare and endemic species, cultural history, sensitive cultural resources, endangered species, and watershed connections.

GIS Development & Cartography

Condor Environmental Planning utilizes cutting edge technology for site inventory and impact analysis. We create maps that present multiple layers of spatial information such as the location of resources and proposed trails, and to display land use information such as locations of alternative sites for development.

A Geographic Information System (GIS) is used to develop these complex and precise models of a project site, such as the Point Sal Reserve shown to the right. Condor used a GIS to develop these complex and precise models.

Condor uses the leading Environmental Systems Research Institute’s (ESRI’s) GIS application that is compatible with a number of other applications such as AutoCAD. GIS allows us to process and analyze data quickly and cost-effectively where maps can be viewed over the internet.

Condor Environmental GIS Services include:
- Access to a variety of existing data sources
- Creation of new data
- Combining of new and existing data
- GIS database development
- Spatial analysis of raster and vector data
- Data classification and modeling
- Custom catrography, geographic visualization and map production
